Featuring my totally bitchin', hopelessly amateur piano solo, in which I scrapped a guitar solo that took me weeks to record, and in its place... an on-the-spot piano solo that took five minutes. Why? It's a mystery, folks. This song could have been portrayed in a dozen different ways (believe me, I tried), but I knew I wanted it to convey a kind of 'finale/decision' sound, for it deals with choices between destruction or encouraging creation. Regardless, I'm very proud of this song, and it's the first ever collaboration I've experienced with a backing singer---the lovely and much more vocally talented than I, Erika Fitzpatrick.
Sean,

lyrics
Did you ever want to see what they see?
Did you ever want to see and eventually found…
Hiding in the corners of revolving eyes
Drifting to the surface to instinctually seek
Out into the world, we’re slaughtered
Butchered to the floor and continually we
Speak inside the rooms of revolving eyes
Wishing you’re the one who can wake me from this…
Sound pulls the dark
From the light
Shades to the dark
To the light
Flesh and flowers bloom yet despite
Nothing is the same
It’s alive
There’s no feeling
There’s no feeling
No feeling
Here
Eliminate the wound with sutures
Gaping in the hole is the whole of all we’re
Searching in the space just beyond your eyes
Absolute centre where the smile becomes a…
Sound pulls the dark
From the light
Shades to the dark
To the light
Flesh and flowers bloom yet despite
Nothing is the same
It’s alive
There’s no feeling
There’s no feeling
No feeling
Here
There’s no feeling
There’s no feeling
No feeling
Here
Slow are these wings to unfold of their properties
Aglow in the space in your mind to break from fantasy
A witness to this change to become; something to renew
Independent from your hesitance
Passing all the houses that align the sidewalk
Muted in the night to the silent tick-tock
Put the car in park and you rub your eyes
Allow yourself to love again and eventually you’ll see
